April 12, The Knoll Open Space & Roads End State Park

It was a perfect day for a walk in the woods. Mark Elliott led 14 birders including a family of 5 from Seattle. The sounds of spring filled the air and plants were shooting up everywhere. All participants were enjoying the beautiful Open Space.

August 10, 2019 The Knoll Open Space, Lincoln City

Nineteen people joined our expert guides in climbing to the top of The Knoll. A few birds, lots of sunshine, and great views! Species included a Cooper's Hawk, Pacific Wren, and Brown Pelican.

This walk was one of our special Bird Watching Clinics, sponsored by Explore Lincoln City and Lincoln City Parks and Recreation.

August 10, 2018 The Knoll

The fog was low in the trees on our walk to the Knoll Friday morning. There were 19 birders/photographers that were not disappointed by the beauty along the trail. We were entertained by the song of the Swainson’s Thrush, Wrentit, Pacific Wren, and the Sightings of the Cooper’s Hawk, Song Sparrow, American Crow, Band-tailed Pigeon, Stellar’s Jay, Raven, Barn Swallow, Dark-eyed Junco, and the Chestnut-backed Chickadee.

June 27, 2015 The Knoll at Roads End Open Space

Trip leader, Mark Elliott, and a sweet looking deer greeted the group of 12 birders. The weather was slightly overcast as we proceeded to make our way through the trees to the top of the Knoll. It was an excellent time to sharpen bird identification by ear because of the canopy that the trees provided. Once on top we were rewarded with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean, Lincoln City, and Devil's Lake.
It was a 'wish you were there' moment.
